Will “Rise of the Dragon” be available on Xbox Game Pass?
As of now, Yakuza: Infinite Fortune is not immediately available for release on Xbox Game Pass. Studio director Avon Yokoyama confirmed this. Instead, the game will be available for purchase through the Xbox digital storefront. This may seem a little unusual, since Like a Dragon and other games in the Yakuza series are also on Xbox Game Pass.

Will Dragon Quest appear on Xbox Game Pass?

Like a dragon, immeasurable wealth
Yakuza: Infinite Fortune is an upcoming video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. It is the ninth main game in the Yakuza series and a direct sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the spin-off Yakuza Gaiden: The One Who Erased the Name.
The game’s protagonists are Kasuga Ichiban and Kiryu Kazuma, who team up to help Kasuga find and reunite with her mother in Hawaii. The story takes place in familiar locales of Hawaii and Japan. Kasuga’s goals stand in stark contrast to Kiryu’s battle with cancer. Yakuza: Infinite Fortune has a release date of January 26, 2024, and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

In Yakuza: Infinite Fortune, players control Kasuga Ichiban and Kiryu Kazuma in a turn-based combat system. Each character can choose a unique “job” with special benefits. Kiryu’s “Dragon of Dojima” class allows him to switch fighting styles and engage in real-time combat.
The Poundmates summoning system returns, including characters like Shun Akiyama. The game explores Yokohama’s Isezaki Ijincho district and the city of Honolulu. Mini-games include classics like Karaoke as well as new games like “Delivery Crazy” and “Sujimon Battle.” Side activities include managing a resort island for Kasuga and Kiryu’s “bucket list” to reunite with old friends from the series.

In September 2022, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced the development of “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth” during a live broadcast originally titled “Like a Dragon 8”. The trailer introduces Kasuga Ichiban and shows off a revamped Kiryu Kazuma, drawing attention to Kiryu’s redesigned appearance.
In early 2023, a Cabaret Club Grand Prix was held, and VTuber Kson won and became a character named Kei in the game. A second trailer released at Xbox Games Showcase 2023 hinted at new locations outside of Japan, confirming the game’s new title. Throughout 2023, livestreams have provided insights into the story, characters and gameplay, revealing details such as the English voice acting by Danny Trejo and Daniel Dae Kim. In October, “Happy Resort Dondoko Island” was unveiled as a side event, followed by a December trailer that focused on Kiryu’s “Bucket List,” an important side event in “Infinite Fortune.”
