Choosing a protagonist to play is a difficult choice for every player. Valorant’s newest agent, Harbor, is also included in this list, so it might be helpful if you’re looking to maintain the latest additions to the Valorant protocol. We also explain his equipment and why he’s among the lowest level of agents.

S-class agent

Korean-style assassin Jett is still the best cutter in the game. Her dash ability is still considered one of the most powerful and versatile tools in Valorant. In addition to her dash, Jet also has an impressive arsenal of gear, including a versatile ultimate, two smoke clouds, and an updraft that allow her to achieve unique angles and positions. Due to these exceptional abilities, Jett remains a top choice in professional and ranked play across all regions.

After the recent nerfs to Chamber, Killjoy’s pick rate has increased significantly. As one of the strongest anchors in the game, she is adept at delaying the execution of her enemies. Additionally, Killjoy has one of the most powerful ultimates in Valorant and can now be destroyed by enemy utilities (with the exception of Sova and Brimstone’s ultimates). Despite his recent nerfs, Killjoy is still the best Sentinel agent in the game.

Russian hunter Sova remains a consistent presence in S Tier and is unlikely to be replaced anytime soon. Valorant places a heavy emphasis on information gathering, and Sova’s ability in this area is unparalleled. Despite receiving several nerfs, Sova still maintains his status as the top promoter in both ranked and pro play.

Omen is the go-to choice for the controller mainline in the current patch due to his powerful ability Paranoia. Additionally, Omen can quickly refill smoke, allowing teams to easily change strategies and execute at another location. With these extraordinary abilities, Omen is expected to remain an S-tier option for a long time to come unless he gets a balance tweak from the developers.

A-level agent

Raz is an A-level agent known for his explosive abilities that consistently secure kills. She brings destruction wherever she goes and has a flexible duelist arsenal. Raze has a Boombot for gathering information, a backpack for getting into debris, and grenades for clearing angles. Her ultimate ability is guaranteed to kill at least one enemy if used correctly. However, due to recent changes to her Boombot, Raze has been downgraded to A-tier and is considered inferior to Jett in terms of entry damage.

KAY/O is a recent addition to the agent roster and has become a popular choice on certain maps. This robot agent has a multifunctional suite including information gathering and flashing functions. KAY/O has the unique ability to disable enemy utilities, which is especially powerful in games that place a heavy emphasis on ability usage.

Skye is another A-level agent who excels at providing flexible flashes for team composition. While she may not have the same level of information gathering as other initiates, her flash and fast pioneer abilities make her a strong choice.

Viper is an American chemist who offers a unique perspective on controller capabilities in Valorant. With her irritating Toxin Barrier, Poison Orb, and ultimate ability, she becomes a strong choice on certain maps. Viper also has a Molly that can delay enemy executions. However, her abilities cannot be redeployed once used (except for poison beads). Despite recent nerfs, her abilities are still strong, especially her ultimate, which has shown a high win rate in pro play.

Fade is a strong initiator with solid information gathering skills. This nightmare-inducing agent has an eye that can spot enemies, a prowler that can clear angles, and an ultimate ability that deafens enemies. While Fade is a strong pick for most teams, Sova remains the top choice due to his flexibility, putting Fade in the A tier.

Cypher is widely regarded as the most annoying webcaster in Valorant, and is frequently picked on in both pro and ranked play. Like Killjoy, Cypher also gets buffs that make it harder for enemies to execute their plans on the attacking side. However, Cypher is still not as flexible as Killjoy, and his ultimate ability is considered inferior to Lockdown. Despite these limitations, Cypher has his strengths and is extremely annoying to play against.

B-level agent

Filipino agent Neon is considered a Class B agent due to his speed and confusing movement abilities. While her kit may be more helpful on tight maps, her dash and ultimate ability may annoy opponents, although her other abilities may not be as useful.

Phoenix’s pick rate has declined since Valorant’s release, but recent buffs have slightly increased his popularity. However, due to the existence of powerful lightning agents and entry-level duelists such as Raze, KAY/O, and Jett, he is still not the first choice in ranked or professional matches. Phoenix can be a good interior agent for the team with his flash and wall ability, but he is often overlooked against more flexible agents.

Japanese agent Night has an unconventional duelist outfit. While his clones and ricochet flashes may not be as effective compared to other agents, his ultimate ability is extremely valuable for gathering information and performing site entries. However, Night’s equipment requires proper use, making him a difficult agent to master. In the hands of a skilled player, he can certainly become a force to be reckoned with.

Gekko is the newest member of the Initiator lineup and has the ability to reset his cooldown, making him unique among agents. He also has a wingman who can defuse and plant for the team. Gekko offers a comprehensive set of launcher tools, including Flash, Shock, and Molly. However, his skillset may not be impressive compared to the top initiators in the current meta, such as Breach and Skye, which puts him in the B tier at the moment.

Breach is known as the master of forced site execution and is a consistent choice on tight maps like Fracture. His stun and flash are difficult to deal with if used effectively. However, Breach’s lack of information-gathering abilities and the existence of Instigators who are good at this prevent him from reaching the upper echelons of Valorant agents.

C-level agents

Deadlock is Valorant’s newest agent, featuring a comprehensive suite designed to limit enemy movement. Her strength lies in fighting team compositions against agile duelists like Jet and Raz. However, as a Sentinel, her equipment is not as powerful as Killjoy and Cypher, which puts her at C level currently.

Often referred to as the “selfish agent,” Reyna relies heavily on kills to utilize her abilities effectively. She only has one ability, which is a weak flash, which can assist her teammates. Her ultimate ability also focuses on individual performance rather than team synergy, making her a poor choice as a team shooter. Although her Leer abilities have recently been enhanced, they still fall short compared to the flashes of other agents. Reyna is particularly weak when entering sites, and she relies heavily on high-mobility duelists like Raze or Jett, making her the weakest duelist in the game.

Astra was once the strongest controller in the game, but after being severely nerfed, her effectiveness has decreased. Since star resources are limited and don’t replenish over time, and her abilities have long cooldowns, performing site reacquisition becomes more challenging compared to other controller agents. Omen and Brimstone received buffs, changing the balance of controller classes.

In its current state, Harbor is considered the weakest agent in the game. Despite recent enhancements, his smoke effects are inferior compared to other controllers. Harper’s kit also requires unique execution abilities, making him slightly more complex than other agents. While his ultimate ability is useful for retakes, his equipment is overall ineffective, preventing him from being placed in higher tiers.

“Valorant” gameplay

Valorant is an exciting first-person tactical hero shooter developed and published by Riot Games. It is a free game exclusively for Windows. “Valorant” was originally codenamed “Project A”. It entered a restricted-access closed beta phase on April 7, 2020, and was officially released on June 2, 2020. Development of the game started back in 2014.

Valorant draws inspiration from the Counter-Strike series to deliver a team-based gaming experience in the near future. Players take on the role of agents, who are different characters representing different countries and cultures around the world. In the beginner game mode, teams are divided into attackers and defenders, with each team consisting of five players. Agents have unique abilities that require charging, as well as ultimate abilities that charge via kill, death, orb, or target. At the start of each round, players are equipped with a “classic” pistol and a set number of “signature ability” charges.

To enhance their arsenal, players can purchase additional weapons and abilities using the in-game economy system. Currency rewards are based on the results of the previous round, individual kills, and completed objectives. Valorant features an array of weapons, including pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, machine guns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles. Each weapon has its own firing mode that players must master to maintain accuracy. There are currently 22 agents available in the game to choose from.

The list of agents includes Brimstone, Viper, Omen, Cypher, Sova, Sage, Phoenix, Jett, Raze, Breach, Reyna, Killjoy, Skye, Yoru, Astra, KAY/O, Chamber, Neon, Fade, Harbor, Gekko, and Deadlock. When creating an account, players begin with five unlocked agents: Brimstone, Sova, Sage, Phoenix, and Jett. The remaining agents can be unlocked by activating their respective contracts. This involves earning a certain amount of XP by playing the game, allowing players to gradually unlock the agents they want and expand their tactical options in Valorant.
