Gameplay features a turn-based combat system, similar to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, for all playable characters. Each character can choose from a variety of “jobs” that function like careers, offering unique benefits and playstyles. With his special class “Dragon of Dojima”, Kiryu can switch fighting styles and temporarily engage in real-time combat, reminiscent of previous games.

The Poundmates summoning system returns, incorporating new and familiar characters from the series, such as Shun Akiyama and Kaoru Sayama. The game brings back classic mini-games like karaoke, darts, and mahjong, as well as arcade games like Virtua Fighter 3tb, Sega Bass Fishing, and SpikeOut.

To add to the fun, new mini-games are also available, including “Crazy Delivery,” a food delivery game inspired by Sega’s “Crazy Taxi”; “Sujimon Battle,” a Pokémon imitation game; and Kasuga Dating app “Miss Match”. A key side event, Happy Resort Dondoko Island, involves Kasuga managing her own resort island, with tasks including resource gathering, crafting, and social interaction. Kiryu’s side project is called “Bucket List” and focuses on reuniting with old friends from previous games. The game blends combat, exploration, and diverse mini-games into an exciting and immersive experience.
