In the icy wilderness of Antarctica, a team from Kord Industries, led by CEO Victoria Kord, discovers an ancient alien object called a Scarab.

Meanwhile, Jaime Reyes, a recent graduate of Gotham Law School, returns to his hometown of Palmela. He learned that his family faced eviction due to financial difficulties. Jaime and his sister Milagro find jobs at Victoria’s mansion, but they are fired when Jaime intervenes in a dispute between Victoria and her niece Jenny. Jenny invites Jamie to meet her at Cord House for a “job opportunity.”

The next day, Jenny realizes that Victoria is using the Scarab for her One Man Corps (OMAC) project. She hid the scarab in a potbelly burger box and gave it to James. When Jaime touches it, the scarab bonds with him, enveloping him in powerful armor.

Jaime later rescued Jeanne from Victoria’s army and learned that a scarab named Kajida had chosen him as its host. With the help of Jaime’s Uncle Rudy, they break into Codetta to retrieve Ted’s smart watch. They encounter Victoria’s bodyguard Ignacio Carapax, who fuses with the OMAC prototype, sparking a fight.

Jenny reveals Ted’s past as Blue Beetle and his research on Khajida. Victoria’s pursuit leads to a tragic incident involving Jaime’s father, Alberto. Jaime is captured and taken to an island fortress where OMAC attempts to extract information from Kajida. After a vision of his father, Jaime accepts his role as Blue Beetle, escapes and confronts Carapax.

Jaime spares Carapax after learning of his tragic past and Victoria’s cruelty. Carapax sacrificed himself, destroying the island and Victoria. Jenny becomes CEO of Cord Industries and helps the Reyes family rebuild. In the post-credits scene, a recording hints that Ted may still be alive.
