How to Remove Smoke Barriers in Sanctuary Areas? Smoke Barriers in God of War Ragnarok Valhalla

Smoke barrier in God of War Ragnarok Valhalla

In the God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC, the Smoke Barrier is an annoying wall of smoke in the Sanctuary area. They block your path and prevent you from accessing the cool stuff and secrets hidden on the other side. Dealing with them can be a little tricky. These obstacles act like obstacles in your journey, making it challenging to explore and find the best loot. The game usually guides you well, but sometimes it throws new challenges at you without much explanation.

One example is a locking barrier between waves in a protected area. They have a lock symbol, but it’s not clear how to get past them at first. Trying to interact with the lock symbol initially doesn’t work. However, things will change as you progress in the game, and over time you’ll figure out how to deal with these obstacles.

How to remove smoke barriers in protected areas?

To get rid of the smoke barrier in the Sanctuary area in God of War Ragnarok Valhalla, you need a special item called a Sanctuary Key. These keys are somewhat rare and you can craft them at the Influence Tablet on the Coast after defeating Tyr for the first time. The first key will cost you 100 Soul Marks, and the cost will increase with each additional key crafted.

You can also find Sanctum Barrier Keys in chests deep within Valhalla, or trade them for Fleeting Echoes on certain Endeavor Tablets. Once you have the key, you can use it to unlock obstacles in the sanctuary. Behind each barrier is a chest that contains useful items like Fleeting Echoes, Mastery Seals, and even cosmetics. Remember, once you unlock a barrier, it remains open permanently. It’s better to unlock one obstacle in each shelter first rather than unlocking multiple obstacles in the same shelter.

The reason is that areas are randomly selected, so by unlocking obstacles in different shelters, you increase your chances of receiving valuable rewards early in the game when you need them most. If you use all the keys in one shelter, your chances of early access to that particular area are relatively low.
