How to Defeat Lesmes and Infanta in Blasphemous 2?

Blasphemy 2

“Desecrated 2” is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 “Metroidvania” game, developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Team17. The game was released on August 24, 2023 for platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, continuing the dark and challenging gameplay of the previous game.

Players once again assume the role of the Penitent, a silent knight who embarks on a new adventure to prevent the curse known as “The Miracle” from resurrecting in a new kingdom. Featuring signature elements of the Metroidvania genre, the game offers complex 2D side-scrolling environments filled with deadly traps, powerful enemies, and intricate boss battles.

Desecration 2 introduces new weapons with unique properties, providing players with diverse combat options and aiding exploration. The game’s development focused on refining the controls and expanding the protagonist’s arsenal based on player feedback.

Artistically, the game draws inspiration from Spanish culture and history to create a unique atmospheric experience. With its enchanting world, engaging gameplay, and improvements over its predecessor, Blasphemous 2 offers players a challenging and immersive journey through a dark and mysterious universe.

How to Defeat Lesmes and Infanta in Blasphemous 2

In this phase, you’ll face both Lesmes and the Princess, each retaining their original moves from their respective encounters. After going through two full boss fights before this stage, fatigue can be felt, but this is where you’ll need to flex your skills to succeed.

Dodging attacks remains the same, but now you have to consider the actions of both bosses. Lesmeth behaves similarly to the previous phase, while Infanta keeps her distance and fires spikes intermittently. Concentrate on fighting Lesmes like you did in the first phase, while monitoring Infanta’s spike attacks. Think of this stage as a repeat of the first stage with the added challenge of baby danger. Priority was given to harming Les Metz’s health.

As Lesmeth’s health deteriorates, taking an aggressive stance can help eliminate him faster, greatly simplifying the fight. In my victory attempt, I used Sarmiento and Centella Asiatica’s Lightning Infusion ability to quickly deal with Lesmes, which proved to be more effective than fighting both at the same time. Once Lesmes is down, focus on fighting the princess, slowly dealing damage while it’s safe. For details on the princess’s moves, please refer to the previous description to prepare for this stage of the battle.

“Desecration 2” gameplay

Similar to its predecessor, Blasphemous 2 retains the 2D side-scrolling Metroidvania gameplay. Players control the Confessor, a silent knight who embarks on a new mission in a fictional kingdom to stop the resurgence of the “Miracle” curse. Set in the original game’s “Twilight Scars” update, the world is still full of dangerous traps, intricate platforming challenges, hostile enemies, and powerful bosses.

Non-playable characters can provide assistance or allow players to participate in side quests. The sequel introduces a range of new weapons, each with unique attributes and skill trees, including war censers, dual-wield rapiers and daggers, and the versatile Prayer Blade, which also aid in exploration and puzzle-solving. Character customization extends to equippable “rosaries” and active spells called prayers, complemented by statues that enhance attributes when strategically positioned.

Development of “Desecration 2”

Spanish development team Game Kitchen is back at the helm for the sequel, working to align Desecration 2 more closely with the traditional Metroidvania genre. Producer David Erosa emphasized expanding the protagonist’s weaponry to enhance combat and exploration capabilities. Notably, the team created a new code base for the sequel and spent 18 months rebuilding it.

Player feedback led to control improvements. Like the original, the team drew inspiration from art, Hispanic culture, and architecture when crafting the sequel. Blasphemy 2 was officially announced by Game Kitchen and Team17 in April 2023 and released digitally on August 24, 2023 for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Premium Digital Deluxe Edition with bonus content is also available.
