Dark and Darker’s February playtest is underway and the development team has been enjoying it. Even though the official release is still a year away, the community and team have created a tier list based on their experience during playtesting. It’s important to note that as the game is still in its early stages, these rankings are subject to change and will be adjusted based on new changes being tested in February.

Player preference and play style should always be the top priority when it comes to tier lists. The Dark and Darker team has done a great job balancing the classes so that each one excels in different situations. Darkness and Darkness Career Level List

grade Darker and Darker Class Tier List
S (best) Priest, Ranger, Mage
A remarkable one) warrior, thief
B (good) barbarian

S level courses (best)

Priest: Having a Priest in your party can give you a lot of security because of the versatility of their abilities. They can heal, tank, revive, and deal extra damage to undead enemies on the maps where they prevail. The only potential drawback is that they are slow and difficult to pair with fast-paced classes like Barbarians and Rogues. However, they are still a much sought-after type at parties.

Ranger: The Ranger is a highly regarded category, as evidenced by the low number of complaints received. They have incredible long-range damage output, allowing them to kill their opponents before they can reach them. Additionally, they offer valuable utility options such as traps, enemy detection, and self-healing, making them a valuable asset to any dungeon party.

Wizard: Wizard has the highest skill ceiling of all professions, providing great power, but also requires great responsibility. Learning to play as a wizard can be challenging in the early stages, but once mastered, they can offer impressive gameplay. Being a top learner is especially challenging and may take some getting used to.

A level courses (excellent)

fighter:

The Warrior is a beginner-friendly melee class, similar to Soldier 76 in Overwatch or Mario in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They have access to a variety of weapons and provide some self-utility, but lack team utility potential.

rogue:

Rogues specialize in stealth and are adept at reconnaissance, backstabbing, and lockpicking. However, if the party is not built to play to its strengths, it may get bogged down in public struggle. To get the most out of them, it’s important to use the darkness to your advantage and focus on preying on unsuspecting targets rather than fighting directly. The Thief class is great for solo play as it allows you to outwit duos and trios. That’s why it ranks higher than the Barbarian class.

B level course (good)

barbarian

The Barbarian is the perfect class for those who prefer a direct and aggressive approach. This level is known for its “W” style, which is to charge in, break through obstacles, and chase down your opponents. To maximize a Barbarian’s potential, it is recommended to pair them with a Mage or Priest for extra support and enhancements. Without the help of buffs, Barbarians will still be intimidating, but will likely become more predictable for experienced enemies. However, when a team is centered around a skilled Barbarian player, it can become a formidable and formidable force to be reckoned with.

All courses in darkness and darkness

wizard

The wizarding profession, represented by characters like Gandalf, Merlin, and good-guy Glinda, is considered a challenging profession due to the need to manage limited spells and mana while dealing with other tasks. Still, playing as a wizard can be a fun experience, especially if you have melee teammates providing protection. However, due to its low physical damage and health, it is not the best choice for beginners.

rogue

Rogue is an excellent class for players who want to collect as much loot as possible and escape quickly. Despite its lower health and magic resistance, the Rogue has the advantage of being able to pick locks without having to pick locks, disable traps, and interact with objects like chests more quickly, making it an excellent choice for those focused on loot. However, this class has limited abilities, using only ranged weapons, which can be problematic if surrounded by enemies. Traps can help, but Rogues are best used with melee teammates to stop any incoming threats. The class also has healing abilities that players can use on themselves and the team, but these spells are limited and should be used wisely.

Rangers

While Rogue is considered an interesting class, its limitations of using only ranged weapons can become problematic if surrounded by enemies. To mitigate this, using traps can help, but Rogues are most effective when accompanied by melee teammates to stop any incoming threats. Additionally, the presence of rangers in the team can provide a significant boost, with their campfire abilities replenishing spells and health, giving the team a second breather.

Priest

The Rogue class has healing abilities that players can use on themselves and the team, but these spells are limited and should be used with caution. Despite its limitations, the class is still suitable for solo play, with melee combat capabilities and extra damage against undead in dungeons.

barbarian

The Barbarian is a great tanking class that allows players to rush into battle and deal massive damage without having to worry about health. This class is ideal for players who want strong magic resistance and the ability to deal significant damage. However, barbarians are slow to open chests and move through corridors.

fighter

The Warrior class is considered the most well-rounded character in the game, able to use any weapon and armor, and has the ability to sprint. While warriors can’t cast any spells, this is a relief for new players and those looking for a more balanced experience. For those looking for a well-rounded experience, the Warrior is the best class in Darkness and Darkness.
