In Alan Wake 2’s “Room 665” chapter, the Ocean View Hotel presents a major challenge. To successfully navigate this section, follow these steps:

Entering the Seaview Hotel:

• At the beginning of the chapter “Room 665,” Allen’s goal is to meet an ally in the shadows of the Ocean View Hotel.
• Initially, entering the hotel through the front door leads to a loop where Alan is sent out with no progress.
• To find an alternative entrance, head to the alley at the intersection of Caldera Street and Ocean Avenue. Solve some cherub light puzzles to reach the cocktail bar near the side entrance. The entry code is “2250”, which is the price of the hotel’s signature cocktail.

Seaview Hotel Navigation:

• After entering the hotel, Alan meets Thomas Zane and watches a cutscene. Afterwards, find an Echo near the elevator and return to the main floor.

Complete scenes and puzzles:

• The first scene begins in the entrance hall. Go behind the reception desk to find another Echo and activate the “Pre-show ritual” option. This unlocks the lounge and expands the area to explore.
• Follow the corridor to the final scene. Use the “Pre-show ritual” option to find a box containing a note and a key to Room 104. Use this key to reach the second floor lounge.
• Enter the rehearsal room scene through Room 219. Use the Angel Lamp to absorb the light to unlock a new corridor leading to Room 202. Discover new plot points in Echoes and throughout the location using the Preview Ritual Plot Point: Haunted.
• Go to the end of the main hallway on the second floor to find the banquet room. Activate the Haunted plot point to access the echoes on the stage. Defeat enemies and earn plot points: The Devil.
• Return to the entrance hall and use the demon to open the stairs to the top floor. When the enemy is released, be ready for battle. Go to the sixth floor and reach room 666.

Final moments in room 666:

• In room 666, you’ll find an inscription on the floor, as well as an echo into absolute darkness. This provides the final plot point, the climax, of the hotel section.

Escape from the presence of darkness:

• When the dark presence appears, run to the light in the lounge to escape.

To end this chapter:

• Return to the entrance hall. Change the scene to the climax for a final echo. Move to the final scene and switch it to the climax. This opens room 108 and ends the chapter with a discussion with Saga Anderson.

In Alan Wake II, the gameplay is different from the first game. This is a survival horror game where you see the characters from the outside rather than from their perspective. You can play as Alan Wake or Saga Anderson in two separate stories. You can choose which story to play first, but some parts can only be played as Saga or Eren.

Both characters travel through different locations and fight enemies using guns and flashlights. Shining a flashlight on an enemy weakens them but drains their battery. You have to be careful how you use batteries and bullets to survive. When an enemy approaches, Allen or Saga can quickly dodge.

There is also a detective part in the game. When you play as Saga, you can pause the game and travel to a special place in her mind called the “Heartland.” It’s like a 3D menu where you can see Saga’s ideas.
